Mission

• You provide patient care using a multidisciplinary approach, in accordance with the center’s criteria, for acute or chronic non-life-threatening conditions, whether as part of clinical pathways or in complex situations.
• You will work closely with advanced practice nurses (APNs) within the framework of organizational protocols and collaboration agreements, as well as with all stakeholders in the care pathway, while contributing to the care and research missions of the University Hospital of Liège.
• You actively participate in interdisciplinary work, particularly through the Wednesday morning meeting, and collaborate with the patient’s multidisciplinary team (APN, coordinating physician, care coordinators, pharmacist, psychologist, social nurse).
• You provide a warm welcome and ensure the comfort of patients and their families.
• You are committed to the activities of your unit, the medical department, and the institution, and contribute to medical and nursing research projects.
• You proactively participate in the continuous quality improvement process within the sector.
• You adopt an approach to general hospital medicine that integrates prevention, support, information, therapeutic education, and consideration of medical and social determinants, in collaboration with medical assistants (IPA).
• You help refer patients to appropriate care pathways (return home, hospitalization, specialized consultations, medical-social facilities) and ensure the continuity of medical care, patient care, and the flow of information within the unit and, if necessary, externally.
• You will supervise medical students on rotation in the department to help them acquire the skills essential to practicing their chosen specialty.

Desired Qualifications

• You hold a specialty degree in general practice, intensive care medicine, or emergency medicine (Belgian or recognized as equivalent), have the required accreditation and license, possess an INAMI number, and are registered with the Medical Board.
• You have a strong interest (or experience) in urgent care, hospital medicine, or the coordination of complex care pathways.
• You possess strong skills in interdisciplinary work, collaboration with medical assistants (IPAs), and shared decision-making.
• You analyze information critically and demonstrate sound judgment and objectivity.
• You demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and innovation skills in healthcare.
• You fully embrace the center’s values: respect, innovation, collaboration, compassion, trust, transparency, pushing beyond your limits, and optimization.
