Every day at UZ Leuven, more than 10,000 dedicated employees combine their expertise to provide high-quality patient care. We are currently looking to strengthen this team with a psychologist in the geriatrics department.

This is a permanent position with a 90% work load.

Desired Qualifications

How do you push boundaries?
You are responsible for neuropsychological diagnostics within the geriatric memory clinic for older patients with cognitive disorders. This 50% position is based primarily at the Gasthuisberg campus.
You provide psychological support to geriatric patients undergoing rehabilitation and their families as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. This 40% position is primarily based at the Pellenberg campus.
You will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and paramedical staff, to whom you will report your findings both verbally and in writing.
You will train students in administering and interpreting tests and in writing up the results.
What do you need for this?
You hold a master’s degree in clinical psychology. Professional experience in the field of neuropsychology and expertise in dementia are required.
In other words, you have a solid understanding of neuropsychological assessment and various neurological disorders.
A continuing education certificate in neuropsychology or a willingness to pursue such training is a plus.
You have excellent therapeutic skills. You are willing to participate in scientific research.
You work accurately, reliably, and punctually.
You are outgoing and a good communicator.
You are flexible and integrate easily into a multidisciplinary team. You work independently, demonstrate drive, and take initiative.
You are eager to learn and take the initiative to keep your knowledge up to date and stay abreast of new developments.
You express yourself fluently in Dutch, and preferably also in French and English.
You are committed to developing your knowledge and expertise and sharing it with others, both within and outside the hospital.
