Mission

Verleg grenzen als verpleegkundige binnen onze operatiekwartieren
Met meer dan 50 hoogtechnologische zalen waar meer dan 53 000 chirurgische ingrepen gebeuren, is het operatiekwartier van UZ Leuven het grootste operatiecomplex van België. De zalen zijn uitgerust met de meest recente technologie en zijn opgesplitst in kernen op basis van de verschillende pathologieën (cardiale heelkunde, abdominale heelkunde, orthopedie…).

Naast het klassieke operatiekwartier, beschikken we ook over zalen die specifiek ingericht zijn voor patiënten die een ingreep moeten ondergaan in dagchirurgie.

Het operatiekwartier 1 op campus Gasthuisberg bestaat uit 7 kernen en 33 operationele zalen, allemaal voorzien van de meest recente spitstechnologie. De 7 kernen heb elk een eigen expertise:

A-kern: urologie en gynaecologie
B-Kern: orthopedie
C/D-kern: neurochirurgie, neus keel en oor, spine, plastische heelkunde, mond kaak en aangezicht
E-kern: cardiale heelkunde, vaatheelkunde
F-Kern: abdominale heelkunde, oncologische heelkunde, abdominale transplantatiechirurgie
G-Kern: traumatologie, thoracale heelkunde
Operatiekwartier 2 bestaat uit 12 operationele zalen voor dagchirurgie patiënten. Je wordt ingeschakeld als omloopverpleegkundige en als instrumenterende verpleegkundige.

Op dit moment zijn we op zoek naar verpleegkundigen binnen operatiekwartier 1. Dit betreffen steeds voltijdse contracten van onbepaalde duur. Werk je liever deeltijds, dan is dit altijd bespreekbaar.
Je werkt in een variabel shiftensysteem en 1 op 2 weekends. Je neemt deel aan een wachtsysteem vanaf het moment dat je voldoende expertise bezit.

Desired Qualifications

How do you push boundaries?
In our operating rooms, you’ll work as both a circulating nurse and a scrub nurse.
You’ll work in a dynamic, high-tech environment with numerous challenges and a wide variety of surgical disciplines
You’ll be responsible for day-to-day operations and nursing care.
You’ll serve as a key link within a multidisciplinary team of nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologists.
You’ll mentor new employees and students, passing on your knowledge and expertise.
You place a high priority on quality care and want to contribute to its further development.
You are committed to continuous learning and keep your knowledge and expertise up to date.
What do you need to qualify?
You hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a HBO5 nursing degree, or are about to graduate.
A postgraduate degree or Banaba in perioperative care is a plus and entitles you to the specialization supplement.
A patient-centered approach and a focus on quality care.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
A sense of initiative and teamwork.
An honest, discreet, and eager-to-learn attitude.
